Lee introduces its Spring/Summer collection
Lee Jeans Spring/Summer 2010 collection is inspired by Lee`s heritage and the three brand pillars of Lee`s history: workwear, western wear and smart looks. Each delivery takes a specific aspect of Lee`s innovative past and brings it up to date in look and style. Union Allers – begins with a fresh take on rich workwear heritage; rejuvenated revivals of the first clothing that the H.D Lee Company made -- two archetypal Lee designs: The Union-All and Whizit Bib. The Union-All began life in 1913 as a denim jacket and pants sewn together became worker`s favourite uniform. Styling inspiration is taken from James Dean`s movie “East of Eden”.The Whizit Bib born in 1925 was a next-generation overall, revolutionary for incorporating a hot new invention: the zipper. The Whizit`s unrivalled practicality made it an instant hit. Other key pieces from the Lee achieve, like the 401 Jacket and the Carpenter Pant are the heart of this delivery; robust workwear reinvented for the modern fashion consumers. These refreshed masterpieces are the combination of authenticity and contemporary, fully supported by a range of T-shirts printed with historical worker images, plus hard-wearing worker shirts. Westerners – is influenced by Lee`s American-Western roots and focuses on Western wear. Inspirational garments are Lee`s slim Rider jacket 101J, which is introduced in 1931, and the slim-fitting 101 Rider pants: renowned as the best-fitting cowboy jeans on the market. Two silver screen idols inspire the look and attitude: James Dean in “Giant” & Marilyn Monroe in “The Misfits”. Today`s Westerners delivery remarks Rider jackets in a variety of finishes and fabrics, mixing them with Western-inspired shirts and slim jeans rich in Lee`s DNA detailing, including the iconic Lee asymmetric back pocket , Lazy S stitching, Beltloop construction, rivet positioning on the seams, Hip pocket label, cross tacks and original leather patch. 50s Preppies - Lee`s fertile 1950s heritage and launches 50S Preppies. James Dean`s movie “Rebel Without a Cause” is the inspiration for menswear while Marilyn Monroe remains the icon: her East Coast casual wardrobe from the 1950s provides a legendary look for the inspiration of the womenswear. Alongside classic jeans, Lee made “comfort clothes for work and play”, which included smart, non-denim pieces made in twill. The chino emerged as a wonderful alternative to jeans or dress trousers, and the leisure age began. The styling is old school Americana, archetypal preppy. Chinos return in classic fits or with a modern twist. Rockers – a high summer package is also included in Lee Spring/Summer collection. Bleached and sun-faded effects on cropped denims rub against rock print Tees and checked, and “greaser” shirts celebrate a music festival in hot summer season. From durable, comfortable denim, to sleek Western styles to smart-casual looks to rock n roll energy, Spring/Summer 2010 collection is definitely a stunning and iconic collection that shows Lee in full bloom.
